It's 1:08am on Saturday the 28th of September, 2024. I can't sleep because I am pondering how best I update my dearest friends, instagram account voyeurs, and all those in-between on my travels and all other general thoughts (because why wouldn't you want to hear them?).

As many of you know, I hate my phone.

I do not answer my texts, or calls, or DMS, or facebook messenger reels of corgis that my mother has sent me. That is, until the guilt inevitably rushes in and I am sitting on the train to work catching up on facebook messenger reels of corgis that my mother has sent me.

But, god do I love the instant gratification of those hearts bubbling up when someone likes your Instagram story; digital eye-fucking. That immediate reassurance that I've posted another banger is so addictive that I've had to start deleting the Instagram app due to the posting of silly little gratification-inducing photos often leading to an excessive consumption of very poor quality instagram reels.

Unfortunately, my usual solution Instagram.com, doesn't have the same effect (emotionally and digitally). So, I often only last a couple of weeks before I desperately clamber my virtual way back into the app store to hit that smug little re-download button.

This blog is, therefore, the answer to both mine and your prayers. I get to yap about things I'm up to, and you can either opt in or opt out, depending on how much you love me.

But no pressure.

– Sorry to interrupt. Not to get all meta on you, but you have no idea how long it just took me to figure out how to upload that image and, honestly, I don't even like it now but there's no way I'm going to put myself through that again.

However, things I am going to put myself through (quite happily) in the immediate-medium distant future include:

• taking my final uni class,

  
  

• moving out of my beautiful home with my beautiful housemates right after we've just figured out how to set up our friend's PS4, which has kindly been lent to us,

  
  

• moving back in with my parents for 3 weeks,

  
  

• and fucking off to South-East Asia and figuring it out from there.

As hyper-independent as I am though, I do feel I need a little comfort animal (in the form of Blog on Computer), as I will not be bringing my childhood teddy bear, George (pictured in tattoo on right arm) on my travels.

In the lead up to my departure I suppose you can expect the occasional whimsical manifesto to appear, but I'll be obscenely busy, and you'll be obscenely busy (probably) so there's really no pressure for me to write them or for you to read them.

I've been learning Vietnamese on Duolingo so I might as well satiate that disturbingly green owl before I go.
